Seminary Professor & Textbook Author · 1893–1957

Paul Joseph Glenn (1893–1957) was Professor of Philosophy at the College of St. Charles Borromeo in Columbus, Ohio, where he served as rector from 1945 until his death. His twelve-book seminary philosophy course, published by B. Herder between 1929 and 1960, is widely considered the most complete and accessible philosophy curriculum ever produced in English for Catholic seminaries.

Each manual follows St Thomas throughout, explaining the Thomistic position clearly and concisely in modern English. The original sources — Aristotle, Aquinas, Anselm — are linked in context for readers who want to go further.
